Man, I have gotten the run around and I don't know if this is isolated or not. Previous to this I could never speak highly enough of the services I got but now I'm just defeated. Sorry for the rant.
On sat August 30th I was driving south on Florida's Turnpike when my car decoded to make an odd ticking sound and stall. I was in a construction zone and near an exit so I coasted onto the off ramp and parked the car on the shoulder. Unfortunately, there was just enough room for the car but not much else. So I parked, threw on the hazards, and walked a bit down the exit ramp to try and make sure people saw my vehicle so they wouldn't plow into it getting off the highway.
I placed a call for a tow with AAA at 12:50 pm, and after giving so many directions and locations that you could have plotted out GPS coordinates I explained I was in a dangerous location. The tow truck finally showed up at 2:10pm after I called multiple times and was sighed at and had attitude thrown my way for daring to call and checkup on my tow.
Finally, my car gets towed to my mechanic and I tell the driver to not start the engine due to the possible internal damage, and it being a push button car (2008 G35) I can show him how to put the car in neutral to roll it off the back. He says don't worry I got it. Cue him trying to crank the motor over and causing possible damage. He then tilts the back and just let's the car roll off without putting any ramps or anything. Cue horrible metal scraping I hear 100 feet away while talking about the engine troubles with my mechanic. I snapped a few quick pictures of the damage and figured I'll file a quick and easy claim, as I was sure this sort of thing was common.
After a week of back and forth and having a ridiculous claim by the tow company writing an estimate for 1/4th the actual damages and not actually inspecting the car and having a reputible body shop come out amd wrote an estime for $900 of damages I finally get a field manager to agree to come inspect my vehicle. I show the the estimate that includes a new front bumper cover for the torn apart chin spolier, under engine splash cover, two new exhaust tips to replace the ones that were bent and scratched, and one new muffler because of the scratches and dents. We agree on a total and I'm told the check will be to me in 7-10 business days.
It's now the 22nd of September and I haven't received the reimbursement for the damages. I call up and I'm told the check wasn't processed by the claims dept until the 12th, then sent off to the central office and wasn't okayed by them until the 19th, and wasn't sent out until either today or tomorrow the 23rd. /wat?!?!
This entire time I have never had am email or phone call returned, I have had excessively rude reps tell me to shut up and hang up on me, I have had reps tell me one thing then it turns out another way. Has anyone else had issues with this company? I just am at a loss.
TLDR; big company screws over the little guy
Sorry about the /rant

Honestly can't say I'm surprised. Things like this rarely get settled quickly, but I hope they're telling the truth and you get your check soon!
